A few minutes with Sean.
Editor draft · placeholder content seeded from Sean's bio while we collect the full interview.
What brought Sean to the Art League?
A working comic artist whose narrative drawings have shown across the Southeast. Teaches sequential art and zine workshops. Sean has been on our teaching roster since 2021 — 5 years now — working out of our Murray Hill studio.
How would you describe their practice?
Sean's work centers on comics and the patient material study it asks for. As Sean puts it: "Make the worst comic you can. Then a better one. That's the whole syllabus."
What can students expect in the classroom?
Sean runs a working studio more than a lecture. Sessions open with a short demonstration, then dedicated practice time with one-on-one feedback, and close with a brief, generous group critique. No experience is required; returning students pick up where they left off.
What's next?
Catch Sean on the schedule below — and watch for new term offerings as they're added. The full conversation with Sean is coming soon to this page.
